Watch Alexandro Bernabei's first Celtic interview in full as he reveals the Ange Postecoglou chat that made up his mind

New boy Alexandro Bernabei says one chat with Ange Postecoglou was all he needed to convince him to move to Celtic Park.

The Argentine left-back arrives from Lanus on a five-year deal with Celtic formally announcing the deal this morning, after his former team had confirmed it in the early hours. They are believed to have paid a fee around £3.75m for his services.

Bernabei notched up five goals and ten assists in 87 appearances for Lanus and the 21-year-old arrives to provide competition and cover for Greg Taylor. Speaking to Celtic TV, he said he was very excited to link up with his new teammates, and admitted playing in the group stage of the Champions League was one of the deciding factors in making the move to Glasgow.

He said: "I spoke to the manager and he said he believed in me and that I can adapt to the team very quickly. I’m very excited and happy and I can’t wait to be playing in the Champions League. I've heard that the people are crazy. So I can't wait to sense that feeling and emotion in Celtic Park.”

Bernabei arrives as Celtic's first ever Argentine player but it's also a first for him as he revealed he had never been to Scotland prior to opening talks with Celtic. But he's out to make up for lost time as he heads to a "beautiful" city to take the next step in his career.

He went on: “This is my first time in Scotland and Glasgow and I’ve seen the city on the internet and it looks very beautiful, so I’m excited to be able to get to know it more. The objective is to become champion and we want to achieve big things as a club and I would like to achieve all of our objectives this year.”
