Ange Postecoglou in Celtic transfer update as he aims to add 'one or two more' signings

Ange Postecoglou admits he is still looking to bring in one or two more signings during the summer window as Celtic kicked-off their pre-season schedule with a thumping win.

The Hoops ran out 7-0 winners on the night against Austrian side Wiener Viktoria with Johnny Kenny grabbing a double, Christopher Jullien, Mikey Johnston, Reo Hatate, James Forrest and Rocco Vata all getting in on the act in a convincing win for the Scottish champions. The fans also caught a first glimpse of Argentine left-back Alexandro Bernabei following his big-money transfer to Parkhead.

First-team regulars like captain Callum McGregor, Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada weren't involved but fans will be excited by the sweeping performance from some of those challenging for regular spot in the team. Carter-Vickers and Jota have turned loan agreements into permanent transfers alongside Bernabei's addition, while Benjamin Siegrist has joined on a free transfer following his contract expiry at Dundee United.

But with Celtic looking to defend their Premiership crown they won back from Rangers and aiming to make a splash in the Champions League, the Aussie boss has confirmed he is still actively looking for a couple more bodies.

He said: “I still think there are one or two areas where we need some more robustness in terms of the squad, just some quality in depth. I wouldn’t expect too many but there are still one or two areas I’m looking to strengthen knowing what’s ahead for us.

“It has been good so far. It has been pretty well chronicled that 12 months ago it was chaotic. In January and now we are working in a way that we know what we are after. We identify targets and then make sure we take the time to get the ones we want,
