Wanted man arrested after teasing police

A man wanted for 19 days has finally been arrested after previously 'teasing he would hand himself in', police have confirmed.

Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have been trying to locate the man since August 8 and was 'aware he was wanted' on recall to prison.

After a number of enquiries, Greater Manchester Police confirmed on Sunday (August 27) that a 30-year-old man was tracked down to an address in Halliwell and was arrested to be taken back to prison.

A post shared by GMP Bolton read: "A male has been arrested in Halliwell after being recalled to prison. Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have been trying to locate a male wanted on recall to prison since the 8th August 2023.

"He has been aware that he is wanted and has teased us that he will hand himself in - but he never did. As he failed to meet his promise to come to us, we have had to go to him.

"After numerous enquiries, his luck ran out this afternoon after we located him at an address in Halliwell. A 30-year-old male has now been arrested and will be taken back to prison."
