'Want to win more than anyone' - Ian Evatt's firm Bolton Wanderers message ahead of Wigan clash

Ian Evatt wants Bolton Wanderers to perform to their levels when they take on Wigan Athletic this weekend in what kicks off a big week for the Whites and will have a big say in their play-offs aspirations.

Wanderers sit in 11th place in the table and are seeking to make a late charge into the top six with slim hopes of achieving back-to-back promotions.

The Latics meanwhile are in the hunt for automatic promotion back to the Championship and even possibly the League One title.

Bolton have seven games left of their season and have little, if any, margin for error in their remaining clashes if they are to keep their hopes of reaching the play-offs intact.

The Latics won the reverse fixture at the University of Bolton Stadium in October 4-0 thanks to goals from Will Keane, Callum Lang and a James McClean brace.

Both sides were not in action this weekend due to having players called up for their international teams and will have had plenty of preparation time for the 12.30pm kick-off.

It kicks off a big eight days for Wanderers as after taking on the Latics at the DW Stadium, they have successive home fixtures versus fellow play-off hopefuls Portsmouth and Sheffield Wednesday.

Evatt admits that the picture can and has changed quickly and that his side must give it their best shot to pick up three points against Leam Richardson's side as he targetted maximum rewards from their remaining encounters.

Evatt said: “Obviously everybody wants to beat their rivals and we want to do it more than anyone. But for us and it’s about us and making sure we perform to our best levels.
