Wales wing seals dramatic Welsh derby victory for Ospreys with last-gasp try
Keelan Giles' last-gasp try sealed a dramatic victory for the Ospreys in their Welsh derby against the Dragons, coming out 19-13 winners at the Brewery Field.
Filo Tiatia's side had looked to be heading towards a first away win in the league in three years, only for Mark Jones' team to score twice in the final 10 minutes.
The victory moved the Ospreys up into the top eight of the URC table.
A week before the start of the Six Nations when both teams were without Wales internationals, it was perhaps not the best-timed Welsh derby you're likely to find.
The two sides headed into the match in vastly different moods. While the Dragons were still waiting for a first away win in the league since 2022, their fortunes on the pitch have certainly turned around in recent weeks.
As for the hosts, the Ospreys' future has been plunged into uncertainty in the past fortnight - with a supporter protest taking place ahead of kick-off outside the ground.
It was the Dragons who endured the trickier start, losing both starting props within the opening 11 minutes.
Tighthead Rob Hunt was forced off within two minutes, before Wales loosehead Wyn Jones was also an early casualty.
Rio Dyer, overlooked for Wales' Six Nations, carried like he had a point to prove.
On four separate occasions, the Dragons winger nearly went over in the left corner. Each time though, the Ospreys just managed to deny him.
However, the second of his forays towards the line did at least see the Dragons keep hold of possession. 15 phases of patient attack later, a pull-back pass opened up the space for fly-half de Beer to sneak through for the opening try.
In a scrappy first-half, it would take until after the half-hour mark for the Ospreys to respond.
