Virat Kohli Said No To Fielding In Slips Against Afghanistan. Later Justified Decision To Coach

India fielding coach T Dilip was all praise for Virat Kohli after the star batter saved some crucial runs in the outfield during the third and final T20I against Afghanistan on Wednesday. Kohli was livewire in the outfield and his role as a fielder was extremely crucial as India edged past Afghanistan after two Super Overs in Bengaluru. Kohli's one-handed leap to deny Afghanistan a six during the intense run-chase was one of the highlights of the match. While speaking in the dressing room after the match, Dilip revealed how Kohli refused to stand in slips, and instead wanted to challenge the youngsters by fielding in "hotspots".

"This guy (Virat) has shown time and again in split-second decision-making. The way he keeps coming, saving runs, putting dives, going for hotspots, you can't take your eyes off none other than Virat Kohli. He won two medals in the World Cup. I still remember in the WestIndies, when he told me that he doesn't want to stand in slips, wanted to do it at short or fine-leg; challenging the youngsters that he wanted to be the best inthe World Cup, and he showed that," Dilip in a video uploaded by BCCI.
