Virals: Liverpool 'still pushing' to sign Fulham ace Fabio Carvalho

Liverpool are reportedly ‘still pushing’ to sign Fulham attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho before the transfer deadline day.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is highly rated across Europe and the Reds were hoping to steal a match on their competition in the January window.

However, the deal is a complicated one to complete as the Championship table-toppers wish to keep the England youth ace in order to maintain their promotion charge.

According to a report from Sky Sports, as cited on Twitter, the Anfield club continues in its attempts to make a deal happen.

Liverpool are still pushing to sign Fulham forward Fabio Carvalho on Deadline Day.

The report claims that Liverpool ‘remain in the hunt’ for the six-cap Under 18 starlet and will look to complete the deal to avoid the need for a compensation tribunal.

This season Carvalho has scored seven times and provided four assists in 18 Championship appearances.

Valued at £3.15million and out of contract at the end of the season (Transfermarkt), paying the mooted £5million for the Portugal-born ace would represent a shrewd deal.

Albeit the case that Carvalho will be available to move as a free agent in a matter of months, previous problems when signing Harvey Elliott would suggest both clubs would want to avoid a tribunal over a fee.

Should Liverpool indeed get this one over the line, Jurgen Klopp would be adding a supreme talent to the ranks with all the attributes required to succeed at the very top level.

This all comes as current Reds’ forward Takumi Minamino reportedly opts to stay on Merseyside despite links with a move away.
