Virals: Liverpool 'interested' in AS Roma forward Nicolo Zaniolo

Liverpool are reportedly ‘interested’ in making a move for AS Roma forward Nicolo Zaniolo.

The 22-year-old is believed to be on the radar at Anfield as well as at European powers Atletico Madrid and Juventus.

Zaniolo is already a regular for the Italian senior side and has been a favoured attacking option for Jose Mourinho at the Stadio Olimpico.

According to a report from calciomercato.com, as cited by Express Sport on Twitter, Liverpool are considering the ace.

The report claims that the Reds are ‘thinking about buying’ the eight-cap ace in the summer.

So far this season Zaniolo – described as ‘incredible’ by Daniele De Rossi – has scored four times and provided five assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £29.7million and under contract until 2024 (Transfermarkt), signing the young attacker would be a wholly viable financial venture for Liverpool.

A versatile operator capable of playing on the wing or centrally, Zaniolo would be a smart addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad as the German attempts to bolster the options on Merseyside.

Possessing particularly strong dribbling ability, the exciting Italian certainly has the fundamentals to become a star in the future.

With the Reds’ short on an understudy for Mohamed Salah, this would cerainly be a worthwhile avenue to explore at the end of the season.
