Everton finally got the Premier League win they have been desperate for this weekend against Leeds United at Goodison Park, and Frank Lampard made some key changes to the starting line-up that massively affected the positive result.

The Toffees secured a 3-0 victory in Lampard’s first home league game since he took over from Rafa Benitez, and although he was unable to work his magic over an entire transfer window, the ex-Chelsea boss wasted no time in making two signings on the last day of the window and his first day in charge at the club.

Donny Van de Beek and Dele Alli joined the side in the final hours of the January transfer window, in an effort to add more experienced players into the team.

And, thanks to the win over Leeds at the weekend and results going their way elsewhere with both Norwich and Watford failing to pick up points, the side are now five points clear of the relegation zone with 16 Premier League games to go and two games in hand over the 18th-placed Canaries.

One player who was instrumental in the important three point win was Manchester United outcast and loanee, Van de Beek, proving to his former manager Ralf Rangnick that he wasn’t the problem at Old Trafford with a phenomenal display for the Toffees on Saturday afternoon in his first starting appearance at Goodison Park.

According to Squawka, Van de Beek made a key pass that created a goal scoring opportunity, won three aerial duels which was the most won of anybody on either side, won the most tackles (4) and most possession in the middle third of the pitch (6) for Everton and recovered the ball 10 times during the game, proving he was crucial to the side in their victory.
