Virals: Celtic cult hero earns well-deserved accolade

Celtic’s Tom Rogic has won the Australian Player of the Year award.

The award was disclosed on the Australian Professional Footballers Instagram page, and Rogic had some comments to make on the accolade.

“It’s a huge honour to be named the PFA Men’s Footballer of the Year. To win this award voted by all my peers is very special.”

Rogic is set to leave Celtic in the summer after an incredibly successful nine-year spell at Celtic which saw him win a host of trophies at the club.

The midfielder made his last appearance for the Hoops in the 6-0 win over Motherwell this month, in which was a very emotional occasion as he shed a tear after he was substituted after around an hour of the game.

As yet it is not yet known where Rogic will be playing next season after his exit from Celtic Park.

Rogic more than deserves the Australian player of the year award, as he has been truly sensational in his last season in Glasgow.

That has been recognised by his peers in Australia and in his last season in Glasgow he has been named as Australia’s player of the year for the first time.

The fact that Rogic has been named as player of the year shows just how much the midfielder will be missed at Celtic Park from now on. With how well Rogic performed for the Hoops over the last nine years, it is going to be very hard for Ange Postecoglou to find a similar type of player that can do what Rogic did in his time at the club.

However, if there is a manager that Celtic fans will trust to find a replacement for Rogic it is Postecoglou, as he has done an excellent job in recruitment since joining the Hoops last year.

Back to Rogic, and he will be considered as one of Celtic’s best attacking players of the last 20 years. The
