Vince McMahon retires: Brock Lesnar's savage five-word message after shocking WWE news

In possibly the biggest piece of wrestling news ever, Vince McMahon announced today that he is retiring from WWE.

The news sent shock waves around the wrestling world, with WWE no longer controlled by Vince for the first time since 1982.

McMahon will remain a majority shareholder, but has stepped down from his roles as Chairman, CEO and as Head of Creative.

Taking his place is Stephanie McMahon, who will serve as the company’s new Chairwoman. She will also be the co-CEO, alongside Nick Khan.

McMahon actually made the announcement on Twitter, which also caught many people off guard, and you can see that below.

At 77, time for me to retire. Thank you, WWE Universe.  Then. Now. Forever. Together. #WWE #thankful

One person that was said to be rather upset by the news was Brock Lesnar, with many reports suggesting that he was irate upon hearing that Vince was retiring.

Brock and Vince are not only colleagues, but very close personal friends, and the reports note that Lesnar was hit hard by the news.

Lesnar was so angry that, various reputable sources have reported that walked out of the TD Gardens, the arena for tonight’s SmackDown show.

That isn’t all though, as Bryan Alvarez is reporting that Lesnar said “if he’s gone, I’m gone”, or at least words to that effect after hearing the news.

Brock's line was some derivative of, "If he's gone, I'm gone."

This isn’t good timing for the company, with Lesnar slated to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in just eight days at WWE SummerSlam.

As of right now, there’s no word on whether or not Lesnar will still be at the Premium Live Event next weekend, but we do know that it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be at SmackDown next week.
