Brock Lesnar WWE walkout: New plans for Roman Reigns at SummerSlam revealed

Brock Lesnar was left utterly furious by the news that Vince McMahon, his close personal friend, had retired from WWE.

Taking to social media today, Vince McMahon announced that he was retiring from WWE effective immediately.

It was later confirmed that Vince had given up all his duties within WWE, and was no longer the Chairman, CEO, or Head of Creative.

Taking his place as the new Chairwoman is Stephanie McMahon, who will also serve as the co-CEO alongside Nick Khan.

As of right now, there’s no word on who is expecting to take over as the creative leader for the company, but that will likely become clear over the coming days.

At 77, time for me to retire. Thank you, WWE Universe.  Then. Now. Forever. Together. #WWE #thankful

As noted, Brock was said to be furious upon hearing the news, walking out of the TD Gardens, the venue for tonight’s SmackDown show.

Reports stated that Lesnar, in as many words, said that if Vince was gone from WWE, then so was he, which you can read more about by clicking here.

Lesnar’s walkout came at a very bad time for WWE, with ‘The Beast’ set to main event SummerSlam in just eight days alongside Roman Reigns.

The match was slated to be Roman’s first defence of the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at a Premium Live Event since he became champion WrestleMania, but that match is now in doubt.

A new report has emerged on the status of the match, with Bryan Alvarez claiming that WWE has another opponent planned for Reigns at the show on July 30.

However, he does explain that WWE is understandably going to try to convince Brock to compete in the match as planned.

It’s worth stressing that Alvarez didn’t disclose what WWE’s backup plan is, just that higher-ups are working on getting a ‘Plan B’
