Villarreal star says ‘Anfield is hell’ as he prepares for Liverpool Champions League clash
Villarreal midfielder Etienne Capoue has described Anfield as “hell” ahead of his side’s Champions League clash against Liverpool.
Unai Emery’s side have done fantastically well to reach the last four of Europe’s elite competition.

They overcame Juventus in the last 16 before knocking out Bayern Munich – who were heavily fancied to win the competition – in the quarters.
Liverpool, on the other hand, knocked out Inter Milan and Benfica, respectively, after winning all six of their group games.
Capoue has played at Anfield many times during his career having played for both Tottenham and Watford.
The Villarreal star believes it is the toughest stadium in England, stating that opposition players “live in hell” for 90 minutes when taking on Liverpool in their home stadium.
“Anfield is hell, you have to say it how it is. It’s hell,” Capoue told AFP ahead of Wednesday’s first leg between Villarreal and Jurgen Klopp’s men (via the Metro).
“It’s the worst stadium I’ve been to in England. Whether it’s the atmosphere, the way they play. For 90 minutes, you live in hell.

“They have this ability to transcend themselves, to cause you nothing but problems, all the time, in any part of the field.
“They never stop, they rush you all the time, they only want to score goals, and even when they score, they carry on. They want to knock you out.
