Video shows moment huge brawl erupts in busy crowd at Parklife festival

Video footage has captured the moment a huge brawl erupted in a busy crowd at Parklife festival over the weekend.

The footage, which was originally posted on TikTok and has since been shared widely on Facebook, appeared to show a number of males throwing punches at each other as the violent scenes unfolded in a crowd at the Heaton Park event.

Music is heard booming in the background as concerned festival-goers tried to move away from the brawl. The group appeared to continue to attack each other as the ruckus moved towards the crowd who watched on in horror.

At one point, one person involved appears to fall to the muddy ground as other males continue to kick and throw punches. Greater Manchester Police are now reviewing the footage.

A spokesperson for Parklife told the M.E.N: "Isolated incidents can always take place where large gatherings of people congregate together.

"Working alongside our operational partners in Greater Manchester Police and other local authorities, we’re pleased to see a significant decrease in arrests and anti-social incidents both on and off-site at the festival this year.

"Faced with challenging weather conditions, we want to thank the vast majority of festival-goers for their responsible behaviour across the weekend."

Greater Manchester Police revealed on Monday (June 10) that 52 people were arrested over the weekend. They were arrested either inside the site, or within the surrounding streets and entry gates for a number of offences including possession with intent to supply drugs, assault and robbery.
