Victor Lindelof comments are a warning to Erik ten Hag and Manchester United

Manchester United have already navigated a mammoth 25 matches since the last international break, but they are far from done yet, with another packed schedule on the horizon.

Ten Hag's side will play a minimum of 15 matches between now and the end of the season, and could add another four matches to that tally if they are successful in the FA Cup and Europa League.

It means the United manager will need to make the most of his squad to get through the final stage of the campaign, though that has not necessarily been the case this season.

Although he has a plethora of players at his disposal, Ten Hag has often been reluctant to make significant changes, preferring to stick with a core of players who have been present throughout his reign.

This was highlighted again this week when Sweden international Victor Lindelof took the opportunity to speak about his future at the club, and voice his frustration over a lack of playing time.

"Of course like every player, you want to play every game and obviously I haven't done that this season," he told reporters while away with his national team. "I want to play, that's why I play football, I want to play games, but I haven't thought about that [transfer away], right now I'm just focussing on the national team and then, of course, the rest of the season with the club. Then in the summer we'll re-evaluate and see what is best."

Lindelof's comments are a fresh reminder of how tricky it is to keep squad players happy, and the 28-year-old is well aware that he has fallen down the pecking order since Ten Hag took charge.
