Marcus Rashford injury latest: Erik ten Hag anger & Manchester United vs Sevilla fitness chances

Marcus Rashford is an injury concern for Manchester United ahead of the visit of Sevilla in the Europa League.

Rashford was substituted with less than 10 minutes remaining on Saturday after appearing to pick up a groin strain. United's star man has been in superb form this campaign, scoring 28 goals and grabbing 10 assists.

With Erik ten Hag now sweating over the fitness of Rashford, here is the latest news on the forward's fitness.

In his post-match press conference on Saturday, Ten Hag was left furious with the Premier League following Rashford's injury. He said: "I can't say in this moment [how bad the injury is], you are doctor, maybe?

"I am not. We have to wait, how bad or how good it is. Obviously he went off with a complaint, now we have to wait, set a diagnosis and we will see.

"Some things you can't avoid but it was avoidable. Why is the Premier League giving us the late Sunday night game (against Newcastle) and giving us the early Saturday game? I think it's not right.

"You run the risk, the players can't recover that quickly, we know all research that players need a certain period to recover and it accumulates. So then you run even more of a risk. It's also part of the schedule that we now find ourselves in this situation and now we can only pray he is not dropping off."

Rashford provided a glimmer of hope on Bank Holiday Monday that his injury may not be as bad as first feared. Posting on his Instagram story, the forward wrote: "Plenty more in the tank." It is not clear at this stage whether Rashford was referring to his fitness or his time at United in general.
