Vicente Besuijen offered Aberdeen FC transfer exit route as forgotten man heads for Dutch second tier

Aberdeen's forgotten man Vinnie Besuijen has been offered a return to Holland.

The Dons are in talks with a Dutch second division side over a potential move. The 22-year-old is waiting to see what develops over the coming days, but if a deal can be struck then he is likely to go back to the Netherlands. Besuijen hasn’t featured for Aberdeen this season and his days at Pittodrie look numbered. The attacker, who still has a contract to 2026, spent last season on-loan at Dutch side Excelsior but that was wrecked by injury.

He returned, fully-fit to Aberdeen for pre-season but hasn’t featured under Barry Robson. The Dons paid out a significant six figure sum to buy him from ADO Den Haag in 2022. Besuijen fell out of favour at Aberdeen under Jim Goodwin and hasn’t featured since. Robson has already let Rhys Williams and Or Dadia return to their parent clubs and he stated the Dons can move if a player or players becomes available who will improve them.

Robson confirmed: “We are looking and active. We try and cover every base and position for every player, if anyone comes in for any of our players. I am sure if the right player becomes available then we can do something, but it has to be the right player who will improve us.”
