'Very impressive!' - QPR fans already love Ethan Laird after Manchester United ace makes debut

QPR supporters waxed lyrical about Manchester United loanee Ethan Laird after he made his debut for the club during Tuesday evening's 1-0 defeat to Blackpool.

The Londoners fell to their second league defeat of the season courtesy of Josh Bowler's effort shortly before half-time, which resulted in Blackpool picking up their first away win of the season. Laird, signed on a season-long loan on Monday, was thrown straight into the starting line-up, starting at right-back.

His move to Loftus Road is his fourth loan stint away from United and he will be hoping for a less stressful time than he experienced last term. He started the campaign at Swansea City before joining Bournemouth in January, a move that turned out to be dictated by injury struggles.

However, he will be hoping that this season proves to be much more beneficial and that he can make the most of playing week in, week out at a club he should stay at for the duration of the campaign. And although he is only one game into his QPR career, the youngster made a positive impression on his debut, despite being on the losing side.

Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look to see what QPR fans had to say:

On joining QPR for the campaign, Laird said: "You want love and care. Winning changing rooms need to have a real care for the players and I feel like on the pitch you will get the best from your players if they know they are going to be cared for.

"I like to play with confidence and be exciting, and I feel I have the freedom to do that here."
