Van Bronckhorst must unleash "wonderful" 18 y/o Rangers gem who "looks a step above" - opinion

Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst ensured that his side went into the international break off the back of a win with a 2-1 victory away from Ibrox on Sunday.

Aaron Ramsey and Connor Goldson scored the goals as the Gers made sure that they remain in touching distance of their arch-rivals at the top of the Premiership table.

They are currently three points behind Celtic and face off against them in the Old Firm clash on the other side of the international break.

However, the two clubs’ respective B teams have already faced each other this month as Rangers smashed their Glasgow counterparts 3-0.

One of the players who caught the eye in that thrashing was young midfielder Alex Lowry, and Van Bronckhorst must unleash him in the Premiership in the final weeks of the campaign. The 18-year-old is a game-changing talent who must be given an opportunity to show what he can do in the Scottish top flight.

Gers reporter Joshua Barrie said that Lowry “looks a step above everyone else on the pitch” during the win over the Hoops as he scored a fantastic goal from distance, driving through midfield before curling the ball into the far corner.

Journalist Josh Bunting also lauded the midfielder with praise last month as he tweeted: “Alex Lowry is just a fabulous footballer, on this pitch the way he’s dribbling on it indicates he has so much quality, so good on the ball and has a wonderful sense of balance, really good at driving at the opposition defence he creates plenty of problems with his movement.”
