US senator calls for probe into KSI and Logan Paul Prime energy drink

A senator in the United States has called for an investigation into the Prime Energy Drink. US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has called for regulators to look into the popular drink created by Youtubers Logan Paul and KSI due to the marketing of the high caffeine product to kids.

Schumer claims that the PRIME Energy Drink is being advertised to kids despite it containing large amounts of caffeine and has warned parents about "serious health concerns".

At a press conference, Schumer said: "Buyer and parents beware because it’s a serious health concern for the kids it so feverishly targets", adding that "because the product is billed as a hydration and sports drink in its other, near identical form, kids are likely to ingest cans of this stuff with the parents being unaware,"

PRIME currently sell three iterations of their product which includes a 'hydration drink' that contains no caffeine, a PRIME popsicle and a 'PRIME Energy Drink' that contains 200 milligrams of caffeine per 12 ounces, equal to six cans of Coca-Cola or nearly two Red Bulls.

The company's website warns that PRIME Energy is not recommended for children under 18, women who are pregnant and people sensitive to caffeine. However, Schumer claims that their near identical branding means parents have been unable to make a distinction on the products and are buying the energy drink for their children.
