URCS launches RehabRental social enterprise in Zakarpattia

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is launching a social enterprise "RehabRental" (ReabProkat) in Tiachiv community of Zakarpattia region.

"Our task is to ensure that people who need assistance can continue to live active lives, move around, take care of themselves and their loved ones. Rehabilitation aids are not just equipment – they are an opportunity to maintain independence, dignity and a sense of a full life," Head of URCS Tiachiv district organization Olena Kaharlytska said.

Today, purchasing rehabilitation equipment is difficult or even inaccessible for many families. The creation of "RehabRental" aims to make essential support equipment more accessible.

The new initiative is being developed within the REDpreneurUA program, which supports social initiatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

The creation of "RehabRental" is a natural continuation of the organization's long-standing work. For more than 20 years, Tiachiv district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society has supported people from vulnerable groups. For two decades, a rental point for rehabilitation equipment operated with the support of the Austrian assistance project HIKODE.

This experience is being transformed into a modern social entrepreneurship model, which will make assistance more sustainable, accessible and effective.

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society is implementing the REDpreneurUA initiative together with the French Red Cross and the Austrian Red Cross.
