Update on Manchester City goalkeeper's future amid Bolton Wanderers transfer link

The transfer window has officially opened at Bolton Wanderers and rumours have circulated about which players might join the Whites.

Wanderers finished last season in League One in ninth place and are seeking to mount a promotion push in earnest this campaign. The club had a successful January transfer window which is aiming to be built upon earlier this summer.

The players will soon to return to pre-season training later on this week. They will then depart for a week-long training camp on the Algarve in Portugal, with their opening pre-season friendly away to Longridge Town on Tuesday, June 28.

Wanderers are seeking quality over quantity this summer and not too many names have emerged in terms of speculation so far. However, the Whites have already made one signing with the capture of defender Jack Iredale from fellow League One side Cambridge United.

James Trafford

The 19-year-old joined Wanderers from Manchester City in the January transfer window, after a loan spell at Accrington Stanley came to an end. He proved to be a hit at Ian Evatt's side, as he became the club's number one goalkeeper in the the second half of the campaign in place of Joel Dixon.

He played 22 times for the Whites and kept clean sheets in his first four games, setting a club record in the process. He also notched two assists in League One.

Talks have been taking place between Pep Guardiola's side and the Whites over a potential return. Trafford has previously said he will leave it to City to decide where the best place to play his football will be next season.
