Latest update on ex-PNE man Tom Barkhuizen's future amid Bolton Wanderers & Derby County links

Bolton Wanderers have made three signings so far this summer and more are sought after the club began its pre-season schedule with a 9-0 victory over Longridge Town.

Wanderers finished last season in League One in ninth place and are seeking to mount a promotion push in earnest this campaign. The club had a successful January transfer window which is aiming to be built upon earlier this summer.

The players began the lengthy pre-season fixture list last night with a big 9-0 win over Longridge on the road. They are next in action on Saturday afternoon for another friendly against Chorley.

Wanderers are seeking quality over quantity this summer. However, the Whites have already made three signings with the capture of defender Jack Iredale from fellow League One side Cambridge United, as well as the return of James Trafford on loan from Manchester City and Conor Bradley joining from Liverpool.

Tom Barkhuizen

An experienced player who has departed Preston North End and has become a free agent. Tom Barkhuizen's contract expires at the club this summer.

Ryan Lowe has opted to release the attacker, who can operate across the front three. He is now a free agent and can move on to pastures new without a transfer fee.

The 28-year-old attacker racked up more than 200 appearances for North End, scoring 38 goals during his time at the club. He joined from Morecambe in 2015 and came through the youth team ranks at Evatt's former side Blackpool.
