Update on Bolton Wanderers duo Sheehan & Isgrove as Ian Evatt brands Thomason suspension 'strange'

Ian Evatt is looking forward to seeing long-term Bolton Wanderers absentees Lloyd Isgrove and Josh Sheehan back in action for the club for the B team as he feels the decision not to rescind George Thomason's red card was 'strange'.

Wanderers are back in League One action tomorrow evening against Morecambe. Before then, the club's B team take on Fleetwood Town at Poolfoot Farm in the EFL Central League.

The pair have been out injured since last November. Sheehan has been out with a ruptured ACL, while Isgrove has suffered hamstring problems in that time.

But the duo are poised to be back in action against the Cod Army tomorrow, which Evatt is excited to see. After that, the Bolton boss believes it will not be long until they are back in action.

He said: “I am really looking forward to having them back. I think they can both be important players for us. Lloyd I think would make a pretty good wing-back.

"He could play left or right. And Josh, he was one of our best players last season before the injury so I am really excited to see him back. And the way we are playing at the moment, the system would really suit him. Another good option for us.

“Just speaking to Josh the last few weeks, he is super excited to be getting out there because he sees what we are doing. He sees how we are playing and he things he can have a real big impact on that. Looking forward to seeing him play.”

In other team news, Dion Charles will not feature against the Shrimps, but is poised to be back in full training ahead of Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. Ricardo Santos is suspended after his dismissal against Port Vale on Saturday.
