Unseen Cyriel Dessers rage at Rangers teammate as Man Utd misstep sparks 'hands up' protest

It was tough afternoon for Rangers at Murrayfield against Manchester United - and Cyriel Dessers was clearly left unhappy during the pre-season friendly clash.

The Scottish Premiership side struggled to show their best form against the English Premier League giants as Amad Diallo saw off Jefte to put the ball beyond Jack Butland and into the bottom corner in the first half, before Erik ten Hag's side double their lead in Edinburgh after sloppy defending allowed Joe Hugill to beat Butland again. The Ibrox diehards were far from impressed from the display after the full-time whistle with the new league campaign and Champions League qualifiers just around the corner.

And it seems they were not alone after a furious Dessers was spotted raging at teammate Rabbi Matondo following a failed counter attack. With the Light Blues trailing by 2-0 with 20 minutes remaining, the ball broke to frontman Dessers and he charged down the right flank.

Welshman Matondo attempted to burst into the box but the ball before Dessers delivered his cross into the area. It was flashed across the United goal, but too far in front of the Rangers' winger and the Red Devils were able to clear the danger.

Irked Dessers clearly felt that Matondo should have reached the ball as he stood with his arms outstretched for several seconds. Even as the wide man collected the ball to attempt to restart the attack Dessers remained rooted to the spot, before rejoining the action.

The incident caught the eye of Rangers fans on X, with one commenting: "Come on, man. The most basic pass possible to a wide open Matondo for a tap in, plays it 5 yards too far and kills it... Then blames Matondo."
