UK bank to give customers as much as £3,500 each

First Direct customers have the opportunity to get their hands on up to £3,500 in free cash, and they may not even realise it. The bank, which is a division of HSBC UK, is running a prize draw through its app in October and November in celebration of its 35th anniversary.

There are a total of 10 jackpots with up to £3,500 for grabs, alongside some smaller cash rewards for those taking part. To enter the prize draw you must first live in the UK and be aged 18 or over. Following this, you must hold a sole or joint First Direct current account which was opened on or before July 1, 2024.

Customers must also have made 30 debit card transactions, however, this also includes using your card through both Google Pay and Apple Pay. The only time transaction don't count is if they were used for gambling, through a credit card, an insurance payment, or a cash withdrawal.

In order to take part in the prize draw, you must first opt in via email or the banner included in the First Direct app. To qualify for October's prize draw you must opt in before 11.59pm on October 31.

You are not required to pay to enter the prize draw. First Direct highlighted that it will not accept any entries received at the closing date mentioned above.

In the case you win a prize, First Direct said it will attempt to contact you by email within 14 days of the draw date. Your prize will then be paid directly into your current account within 14 days of the draw being made.

If you hold more than one current account, it will instead be paid into whichever account you want which can also include a joint account.
