UFC London 2022: Darren Till says this is his ‘Tyson Fury moment’

The cancellation of Darren Till’s fight at UFC London was a big loss for the promotion, and now the fighter has revealed the frustration of having to pull out ahead of the company’s return to the O2 Arena in London next week, comparing his current mental health status to that of Tyson Fury previously.

The one-time UFC championship challenger was originally scheduled to be competing in the co-main event of UFC London against Jack Hermansson before a leg injury derailed the bout.

Chris Curtis will be stepping in at short notice to take on the biggest fight of his UFC career, but Till is lamenting what could have been inside the O2 Arena on Saturday, July 23rd.

Speaking on the Block Assets YouTube channel (via MMAFighting), the British fighter would outline his frustration with the situation.

“I feel like I’m in a Tyson Fury moment” Till revealed. “Remember when he said he was going through that depression stage? I feel like that’s where I’m at now.

“It’s so f****** frustrating for me at the same time because I know my potential. I’m not downing anyone, but I’m the f****** best out there and I know that, but it’s just such a f****** depressing time for me at the moment. 

“Listen, trolls don’t bother me, but it’s just these f****** comments — even fighters — and they’re like, ‘Oh, he pulled out.’ I’m like, mate, come to my gym and I’ll f***** take you out. It’s just so frustrating right now for me, it really is. I’m just at a f****** low point.”
