UFC 277 Media Day: Derrick Lewis discredits opponent
UFC 277 is set to take place this weekend, and Derrick Lewis had some interesting comments for his opponent on the fight card Sergei Pavlovich.
Despite the fact that the two Heavyweight contenders will be competing just ahead of the co-main event and the main event of the evening, Lewis has made some odd claims about his knowledge of Pavlovich.
Lewis vs Pavlovich should be a barnburner of a fight, just ahead of the epic main event between Julianna Pena and Amanda Nunes for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship.
Here is what Derrick Lewis had to say about his UFC 277 opponent Sergei Pavlovich during the UFC 277 Media Day event.

Speaking at the UFC 277 Media Day (via MMAJunkie), ‘The Black Beast’ said: “I ain’t know who he was (when the fight was offered). I still don’t know who he is.
“It really don’t matter. I’ve fought everyone. I fought guys that should be champions, and I fought guys that should be a reporter for MMA Junkie. I fought everyone. So it don’t matter. So I’m not the best fighter. I don’t go out there thinking I’m the best fighter, either. So it don’t matter.
“I’m at a new camp now. We’re just having fun. I’m enjoying the process of training. I used to not like even (get excited to train). Now I try to get there early, at least one minute earlier than I usually do.”
Lewis would also jokingly state that he is still in the fight game for the money, noting: “It’s still the money. Inflation. You didn’t see the gas prices?”
