Ibadan to host beach refresher course for referees
President, Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Musa Nimrod, has commended the country’s U-19 boys volleyball team for its qualification to play in FIVB Boys’ World Championship billed to hold next year.
The team won an emphatic match against Egypt in Morocco 3-0 (25-18, 25-20 and 31-29). Nimrod lauded the performance of the players throughout the championship, as well as the technical crew for their efforts in ensuring Nigeria remains champions.
He added that he looks forward to the next generation of upcoming stars, who through hard work, discipline, resilience and determination will one day win the World Cup for the country.
“Having won the tournament twice in 2020 and 2022 under this board, I am assuring you of the board’s total support, as well as the volleyball community.
“Nigeria is the first sub Saharan African country to win the championship twice and attend the World Championship twice. It is my prayer that this current crop of players will surpass the 14th position placed by the previous teams.”
Also speaking on the victory, the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) commended the team for its feat.
ANFASSC Chairman, Prince Ogunjimi, congratulated the team on behalf of the supporters club and hailed Nimrod for his giant strides and consistency.
