Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte: Fight date, venue and how to watch as contracts signed

Tyson Fury's return to the ring and fiercely-anticipated first fight back inside the UK for years is now not too far away at all, with the countdown well and truly on.

The past 18 months have been a rollercoaster ride, with unification bouts against Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk both muted at varying stages - before a third fight with Deontay Wilder went ahead and the title defence against Dillian Whyte was mandated.

Widely expected to be the final hurdle for the Gypsy King before a unification fight finally materialises, the bout is set to be one of the biggest held in UK for years.

Both camps have now signed their contracts for the fight, with Whyte and his team putting pen to paper on the deal overnight.

Here's everything you need to know about Fury's title defence against Whyte.

Fury's camp had always wanted his return to the ring to take place in March but the considerable delays in setting-up the bout with Whyte made that impossible.

Purse bids were delayed on four occasions, while contracts were only finalised on the final day that was set in the deadline.

As such, Fury's fight will be a little later in the year than was anticipated and will take place on Saturday, April 23rd.

Had Fury's camp got their wish with a March date, the venue was highly expected to have been the Principality Stadium in Cardiff due to the fact it is roofed.

However, the push back by a month has opened up different, and arguably better, options for the fight and London will take centre stage.

Wembley Stadium is set to play host to Fury's bout against Whyte on April 23rd, following on from Joshua's victory against Alexander Povetkin in September 2018.
