Tyson Fury set to make retirement decision this week amid key talks with the WBC

WBC and The Ring heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will give fans some clarity on his future after talks with WBC this week.

Ever since his triumph over Dillian Whyte at Wembley last month, fans have been wondering whether or not Fury would follow through on his promise to retire from professional boxing. His in-ring interview after the bout was fairly inconclusive, with ‘The Gypsy King’ being sure to keep us all on our toes.

Unfortunately for Fury, he won’t be able to keep us in suspense for much longer as he prepares for talks with the commission over what he’s going to do next in his career.

“We are ready to support him on whatever he decides. If he decides to retire the WBC will fully support him.

“It is our dream to see fighters retire with such greatness. Undefeated champion, financially protected with a loving family and a great future outside the ring.

“I am very happy and satisfied if this is his final decision and will fully support him and will be close to him for the rest of his life.”

There’s every chance Fury will indeed ride off into the sunset with his wife and kids but in equal measure, he may also opt for a U-turn.

If he wants to go down the exhibition route, battling it out with UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou seems like the right way to go. After all, ‘The Predator’ did join Fury in the ring after the Whyte victory, and they were clearly eager to get a deal done.

If he wants to stay pro, a unified showdown with the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua 2
