Tyson Fury could lose half of his £80m fight purse against Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury may have to part with up to half of his prize money from his fight against Oleksandr Usyk due to UK tax laws.

The 'Gypsy King' faced off against the Ukrainian in Riyadh on Saturday evening, unfortunately losing by split decision. Both fighters were vying for the title of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

Despite four belts being at stake in Saudi Arabia, both fighters also had the opportunity to secure a substantial pay day. Regardless of the outcome, Fury could earn up to £80m for his bout with Usyk.

A spokesperson for Stocklytics explained: "If you are a resident in the UK, you have to pay tax on overseas earnings in the same way, and that remains the same no matter how much someone might earn. Good tax advice is always important, and in this case, you can be sure the Fury camp will have looked at an agreement that would be the most beneficial."

However, Fury might be able to find a slight workaround to keep more of his prize money. It has been suggested that making a donation to charity could potentially serve as a loophole.

The financial spokesperson remarked:
