Tyson Fury confirms boxing comeback desire to fight surprising opponent

Tyson Fury has confirmed that he would like to make his boxing comeback and has named his opponent as Derek Chisora for their third fight. The two previously fought in 2011 and 2014, with Fury coming out as winner in two dominant showings by a younger Gypsy King.

Fury has stated on numerous occasions that he'd like to fight Chisora to complete their trilogy. However, the timing may be seen as strange, with Chisora coming towards the end of his career after three losses in his last four fights.

Fury had recently reiterated that he does believe he is retired, he has also stated that he would reverse his decision to retire and stated that he will return to the ring if the right opportunity comes up. This came after his win over Dillian Whyte, stating that it would be his final bout, and he would hang up his gloves at the age of just 33. However, he has not yet surrendered his belts and is still officially heavyweight champion.

Fury has been keeping up his usual training routine despite confirming multiple times that he is retiring after beating Whyte - and even posted an image of him training with Joseph Parker after calling out Chisora.

Fury said: "This one goes out to Derek 'The s***house' Chisora; you're running Derek, from the trilogy," in a video posted on social media. "You call yourself 'War' but you should call yourself chicken because you're running from the trilogy and from a career-high pay day. Get that f***ing contract signed."
