Tyrrell Hatton tells reporter 'f*** off' as hilarious Ryder Cup star tells teammate Jon Rahm he isn't messing around
Team Europe star Tyrrell Hatton was challenged to a swear-off with his Ryder Cup teammate Jon Rahm – and immediately told a reporter to 'f*** off’.
Hatton and Rahm will team up in Italy as the showpiece international event kicks off this Friday. It's the strongest Team Europe in years and many are tipping them for success over the USA with Hatton and Rahm joining Scot Bob MacIntyre and world No.2 Rory McIlroy in Luke Donald's star-studded 12 man team.
And it seems morale is high too as Hatton was off the mark with a quick-witted response when one reporter jokingly tried to stir up some aggro between him and the reigning Masters champion. Both Hatton and Rahm are known for their use of the odd expletive on the fairways and greens. It came after Hatton asked Rahm why he swears in English rather than Spanish, quipping that it would probably fly under the radar a bit more if the big Spaniard used his native tongue for his X-rated outbursts.
He was then asked if he knew any Spanish swear words himself and replied: "I think I'd do it a pretty poor attempt if I tried. I don't want to embarrass myself or upset Jon in front of him. But I'd probably win in a swear-off between me and him.
"I've got everyone covered. Any time of day, anywhere, no holding back. Doesn't matter what we're doing, I'm swearing." A reporter then followed up "What about now?" before a razor-sharp Hatton hit back "f*** off" to the hilarity of the press room.
