Tyrell Malacia lifts lid on Louis van Gaal disagreement as Manchester United teammate lauded

Here are your latest Manchester United morning headlines on Tuesday, September 27.

Malacia reveals disagreement with Van Gaal

Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia has revealed that he disagreed with Louis van Gaal after being told he would be playing at centre-back instead of left-back for the Netherlands.

Malacia came on as a half-time substitute during his country's 1-0 victory over Belgium in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday night. Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk scored the winning goal in the 73rd minute as the United full-back helped the Netherlands keep a clean sheet.

Eyebrows were raised at Malacia's introduction, as Van Gaal brought him on for Nathan Ake. Fans were expecting Daley Blind to tuck in from left wing-back and adopt a more central position, with Malacia being utilised out wide. However, Blind remained at wing-back with Malacia playing as a left-sided centre-back alongside Van Dijk.

Carrick shares verdict on new signing Eriksen

Eriksen has featured in every game for the Reds so far this campaign. The former Tottenham player, who arrived in the summer following a short-term stay with Premier League side Brentford, has laid on two assists in eight games across all competitions.

He has formed a solid partnership in midfield with Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes - while Ten Hag's squad have recovered from a nightmare start to the season to win their last four top-flight matches.
