Christian Eriksen praise following France victory proves Manchester United teammates right

After an impressive season with Brentford last season - where he registered a goal and four assists in 11 appearances - Christian Eriksen made the move to Manchester United.

The Denmark international, who returned to football after having an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) fitted following his cardiac arrest at last summer's Euros, could have remained with the Bees, but he was keen to test himself at the top level once again.

His United career didn't get off to the best start, with Erik ten Hag's side losing their opening two matches against Brentford and Brighton. Despite this, while a number of his teammates were criticised for their individual performances, the 30-year-old was praised for his individual showings - even if they came in defeats.

Since then, the Reds have gone on to find their last four successive Premier League matches, and have delivered a number of much-improved performances. Eriksen, alongside Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay in midfield, has continued to show his class. The Dane already appears undroppable for United, and he has continued to impress while on international duty.

While Denmark were unable to find a way past Croatia on Thursday last week, Eriksen's wondergoal got supporters understandably excited. His overall performance was lauded and his second-half strike showed he still has the ability to impact the game with goals.
