Tymon, Wilmot - Stoke City injury news ahead of Carabao Cup game at Morecambe

Josh Tymon and Ben Wilmot will be assessed ahead of Stoke City's Carabao Cup tie at Morecambe - with perhaps one eye on making sure they are fit for the Championship game at Huddersfield this weekend.

Left wing-back Tymon, aged 23, played a key role in Stoke's opening win of the season at home to Blackpool on Saturday, setting up both goals before he limped off in the closing stages with an ankle problem. Centre-half Wilmot, aged 22, has a heel problem.

Assistant boss Dean Holden said: "Tymo picked up an ankle knock towards the end of the game. We're hoping he'll be all right for the weekend, we'll just have to see, it's swollen and bruised at the moment.

"Ben Wilmot has picked up a little heel thing but that's just precautionary at the moment."

"We do a lot of 11v11 in training and we've moved the selection around at times. There will be nothing new
