Tyler Burey to Brentford: What do we know so far? Is a transfer likely to happen?

Brentford are considering a summer move for Millwall attacker Tyler Burey, as per a report from The Sun.

The 21-year-old, who embarked on a loan spell with Hartlepool United at the start of the season, scored three goals and assisted another in seven fourth-tier outings.

Proving to be an excellent addition at League Two level, Burey’s progress in the north east was halted by a hamstring issue.

Joining back up with the Lions in January, Burey has netted twice in seven appearances, with two of those matches seeing the young attacker in the starting line up.

Prior to this season, Burey was predominantly deployed as a winger, however, at both Millwall and Hartlepool, he has found himself in a striking role.

What do we know so far?

Brentford are continuing to assess the EFL market ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window, with the Bees emerging as an interested party in Burey.

It became very well-documented that the Lions were hoping to bring Brennan Johnson to the Brentford Community Stadium last summer and in January, with The Telegraph reporting that Nottingham Forest rejected two substantial bids for the 20-year-old.

It remains to be seen if Burey is viewed as a secondary option, with their pursuit of Johnson seemingly proving too difficult.

Burey is progressing at an exciting rate at The Den, with Millwall hoping he can continue firing and help them make further strides towards the play-offs.

Is a transfer likely to happen?

Should Brentford offer an appropriate fee, and they give up on their Johnson pursuit, then the likelihood of the Bees securing a deal for Burey will improve.

Burey has adapted to Championship level football seamlessly and is already emerging as an important scorer of goals.
