Two new names included in Liverpool squad for RB Leipzig as defender hints at injury return

Kaide Gordon was pictured with Liverpool squad travelling to Germany for their pre-season clash with RB Leipzig this morning.

Gordon, 17, missed the tour of Thailand and Singapore through injury. But he will be hoping to feature when the Reds face the Bundesliga club at the Red Bull Arena this evening - and then Red Bull Salzburg in Austria next week.

Goalkeeper Liam Hughes, 20, was also pictured with the squad at Liverpool John Lennon Airport on Wednesday. He did not fly out to the Far East but with injury concerns over first-choice Alisson Becker and number two Caoimhin Kelleher, Hughes was pictured along with fellow keepers Adrian and Harvey Davies.

Liverpool will conclude their pre-season plans with a meeting against Manchester City in the Community Shield next Saturday at Leicester City's King Power Stadium before taking on French side Strasbourg at Anfield the next day.

New signing Calvin Ramsay has yet to feature in pre-season after an injury was picked up in his medical ahead of his transfer from Aberdeen.

However, the 18-year-old could be involved sooner rather than later as, while he wasn't pictured getting on the plane to Germany, he shared a post on his personal social media channels.

It's unclear whether he'll be part of the squad in Germany, but his Instagram story suggests he's heading straight to Austria ahead of the training camp and game against Salzburg next week.
