Two men released on bail after 15-year-old boy 'stabbed at park'

Two suspects have been released on bail after a teenage boy was reportedly stabbed at a park. Police were called to reports of an incident at Albert Park, Broughton, at around 4pm on Tuesday (May 31).

A 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital. Greater Manchester Police arrested two men. In an update on Wednesday, the force said the pair have since been released on bail.

Forensics cordoned off an area of the park, blocking off one of the entrances for a number of hours as enquiries were carried out. The nature of the victim's injuries have not been disclosed.

A woman living opposite the park said: "It’s horrible, it’s usually a quiet park with families and people running."

Another person said: "I was home at 4pm and I saw loads of police and they wouldn’t let me on the park.

"I’ve just found out now that it’s a kid who got stabbed, it's really shocking."

On Tuesday afternoon, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called to Albert Park Road in Salford to a report of a stabbing at 4pm today (31 May 2022). Emergency services attended and a 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital."
