Two Man City stars can put an end to nagging Pep Guardiola worry

Manchester City look to stretch their winning run into double figures this weekend.

Pep Guardiola's side have won nine in a row in all competitions and their momentum in the Premier League has taken them to within two points of the summit with a game in hand on leaders Liverpool. Beating their Merseyside neighbours Everton on Saturday lunchtime will take them to the top for at least a few hours, with Jurgen Klopp's side hosting Burnley a few hours later.

A fully-fit squad for just the second time this season will leave Guardiola with plenty to think about, and here are a few other talking points.

It may look like a straightforward fixture but Everton at the Etihad throws back to a few Guardiola nightmares. In his first season at the club City contrived to miss two penalties in a 1-1 draw and it was the same scoreline at the beginning of his second year that left the manager wondering whether his team would ever improve at both ends of the pitch.

They have enjoyed more success since but even last year Frank Lampard's side held them to a 1-1 draw at home. As Guardiola pointed out ahead of this game, their away record is much better than at home.

There are always worries around an early kick-off on Saturday as the team and crowd try to get themselves up for the occasion. If City aren't careful they could trip up.

However, one thing that could help is the sight of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne back in the same team for the first time this season at the Etihad. The pair's only other appearances - against Burnley and Brentford - have been away from home.
