Tributes to teen killed with two friends in horror crash
Heartfelt tributes have been pouring in for a young man who tragically lost his life alongside two friends in a devastating crash. Koby Jones, 18, identified by locals, was killed when the Seat Ibiza he was reportedly driving veered off the road and struck a tree at about 8.30pm on Friday.
Koby and two 19-year-old boys succumbed to their injuries at the scene in West Bretton, close to Wakefield.
His grieving grandmother, Janice, remembered Koby as having a 'heart of gold'. In a poignant message, Koby's cousin expressed her sorrow: "We are a heartbroken family because of the loss of my cousin Koby, taken way too soon and he will be missed and loved and never forgotten about. We love you Koby."
A friend paid homage to Koby's character, calling him "one of the most genuine, caring people I've ever met" with the "loudest most contagious laugh ever". She continued: "You were always such a positive person and you were always such a good friend to me - whether it was buying my Starbucks when I was hungover and upset over a breakup or just saving me the good seat on the bus... gone way too soon. Love and appreciate you."
The black Seat Ibiza was heading towards Woolley when the accident occurred, resulting in the car leaving the roadway and colliding with a tree, reports Yorkshire Live.
On Saturday, Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle stated: "This is a tragic incident which has resulted in the loss of three lives and fourth person suffering critical injuries. Our thoughts go out to the families of those involved who we are working with to provide support.
