Trent Alexander-Arnold and Vincent Kompany among names in 2023 Football Black list

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold headlines the latest set of players and managers in football to be included in the most influential black people in British football. Burnley boss Vincent Kompany and strike Lyle Foster are also included in the annual list that recognises the efforts of black figures working in various areas of the game.

Alongside Kompany on the coaching list, former England manager Hope Powell, who is currently women's technical director at Birmingham City is named and they have been joined by Hull boss Liam Rosenior, Port Vale manager Darren Moore and West Ham academy coach Nicole Farley.

The Football Black List was first published in 2008 and the event is held each year to recognise industry professionals who have had a positive influence. Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong is among the nominees for the Ugo Ehiogu award which casts a spotlight on the 'ones to watch', identifying talented people in the industry under 30.
