Travel warning issued to Manchester rail passengers as person taken ill at city centre station
Commuters are being warned to expect disruption to trains in Manchester city centre after a passenger was taken ill. TransPennine Express says some rail lines are blocked this morning (November 22).
It follows a passenger being taken ill at Deansgate station. Their condition has not been confirmed. North West Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
Travellers are being warned to expect delays of up to 30 minutes this rush hour. TransPennine Express expects the disruption to last until around 8.30am today, affecting services between Liverpool and Manchester, and Preston and Manchester.

A spokesperson for TransPennine Express wrote on X: "Due to a passenger being taken ill at a station at Deansgate, some lines are blocked. Train services running through this station may be delayed.
"Disruption is expected until 08:30 22/11. You should travel as planned but services may be delayed up to 30 minutes... If your journey has been delayed, you may be entitled to some compensation."
It comes as a Met Office weather warning for snow and ice remains in force, with passengers warned some travel disruption could take place. TransPennine Express previously reported a points issue between Edge Hill and Wavertree Technology Park, in Liverpool, affecting services earlier today.
