Transfers: Andrew Omobamidele agrees loan deal with Strasbourg

Republic of Ireland defender Andrew Omobamidele has joined Strasbourg on loan from Nottingham Forest until the end of the season.

The French club, who currently occupy 10th place in the Ligue 1 table and are managed by former Hull boss Liam Rosenior, will have an option to buy the 22-year-old when the deal expires.

Forest signed Omobamidele from Norwich for £11m in 2023 on a five-year-deal, but the Leixlip-born player has found playing time hard to come by.

Omobamidele had featured in just 15 games for Forest, with his only appearance this season way back in August in a Carabao Cup encounter against Newcastle.

Murillo, Morato and Nikola Milenkovic are all ahead of Omobamidele in the centre-back pecking order at the City Ground, with that unlikely to change given the impressive record of their parsimonious defence.
