Transfer revelation emerges involving Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers
Sheffield United loanee Morgan Gibbs-White has revealed he was always pushing for a return to Bramall Lane after recovering from his injury amid fears his parent side Wolverhampton Wanderers would recall him, speaking to The Star.
The advanced midfielder has enjoyed a fruitful spell in South Yorkshire thus far, arriving on deadline day back in the summer and being one of few Blades to thrive under both Slavisa Jokanovic and current boss Paul Heckingbottom.
Recording seven goals and five assists in 22 Championship appearances this season after taking the step down, he would probably have more goalscoring contributions to his name if it wasn’t for an injury that kept him out of action for around a month.
He even returned to Wolves to receive treatment there in the early stages of January after sustaining this setback – and with the Premier League side seemingly having the option to recall the 22-year-old after seeing him impress in the second tier – there were doubts as to whether he would make his way back up to Yorkshire.
Bruno Lage’s side weren’t shy to bring him back from his temporary spell at Swansea City back in January last year – but he was allowed to continue thriving with United and has now eased his way back into action under Heckingbottom.
Although the England youth international commended the fans for their role in ensuring he returned, Gibbs-White also revealed to the Sheffield Star that his mind was made up already on whether he wanted to make the trip back to the second-tier side following his recovery.
