Leeds, Crystal Palace & Southampton join Fulham in pursuit of player amid electric Sheffield United form

Sheffield United loan ace, Morgan Gibbs-White, is attracting interest heading into the summer transfer window, with the expectation that the midfielder is bound for the Premier League in 2022/23.

Wolves have trusted Sheffield United with Gibbs-White’s development this season, with the 22-year-old thriving under Paul Heckingbottom.

He’s struck eight goals and registered seven assists, linking up superbly with Billy Sharp as the Blades motor on into the play-off places.

As per a report from TEAMtalk, Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Southampton are all Premier League clubs with an interest in the Wolves ace, whilst Fulham also see him as a potential replacement for Fabio Carvalho in the event of him leaving Craven Cottage.

Gibbs-White, who also had a brief loan spell with Swansea City, has made 86 appearances for Wolves, although 58 of those have come from the bench.

Gibbs-White was in scintillating form on Tuesday night for Sheffield United as they stormed to a 4-1 victory over Middlesbrough at Bramall Lane.

The midfielder laid on an assist for Sharp, before rounding off the scoring with an outrageous back-heeled finish. Another standout afternoon for Gibbs-White came recently as the Blades dispatched Swansea 4-1, with two goals and an assist that afternoon.

The Verdict

Gibbs-White’s form this season for Sheffield United leaves no doubt about the fact that he’s going to be a Premier League player next year.

That could well be with Wolves, but if his parent-club don’t offer him the opportunities to thrive, the likelihood is that someone else will.

He would elevate Leeds, Palace or Southampton, whilst also improving Fulham’s chances of survival if (or when) they win promotion to the Premier League.
