Manchester United have a new goalkeeper after signing Andre Onana from Inter Milan in a £47million deal.

The Cameroon international, 27, said it was an "incredible honour" to join Erik ten Hag's squad having previously played under the Dutchman at Ajax. He is Man Utd's second summer signing after Mason Mount, who arrived from Chelsea earlier in the window.

Speaking of Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino is still pushing to sign Moises Caicedo. Brighton want around £100m for the 21-year-old.

Elsewhere, Liverpool could lose their captain after accepting a £12m transfer bid from Saudi side Al-Ettifaq for Jordan Henderson. The England international, 33, has been offered a three-year £700,000-a-week deal by Steven Gerrard's team.

Jorg Schmadtke could stay at Liverpool beyond this summer. The 59-year-old was appointed as the club's sporting director in May after signing a one-year contract, but that deal includes a break clause which can be activated at the end of this transfer window.

Schmadtke, who left a similar position at Wolfsburg in January, was initially expected to leave Liverpool in September. Yet the German has now admitted he could stay for longer. "We're waiting until the end of August," he told Sky Sports.

"We've signed an annual contract, but have the opportunity to ask each other in August, are we both still sure or not. If someone isn't sure, then we shake hands and I might get a ticket if I want to stop by."

When asked if he will be celebrating his 60th birthday at Liverpool in March, Schmadtke optimistically replied: "It could be!"
