Transfer insider: West Ham ‘looking’ at one of ‘Europe’s top midfielders’ as Moyes eyes signing

Transfer insider Dean Jones has revealed that West Ham are ‘looking’ at the possibility of signing Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

The Belgian has just under 12 months remaining on his contract with the Foxes and has been linked with a move away from the King Power as a result.

It was reported by The Telegraph back in May that the 25-year-old had been attracting attention from fellow Premier League side Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta pushing to make a bid, but it seems as though the Gunners’ interest has cooled off for now.

This now leaves an opportunity for some other top-flight clubs to jump in and try to seal a move, and it sounds as though the maestro is someone who is firmly on the Irons’ radar.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones confirmed that Tielemans is a player who West Ham have been keeping a close eye on. He said:

“West Ham have also been looking at Tielemans. West Ham, Tottenham, Arsenal, they’ve been looking at a lot of similar players of this kind, and Tielemans is probably the most high profile one that’s left for all of them at the moment in terms of that midfield role.”

The way in which David Moyes has transformed his squad since taking charge at the London Stadium has been nothing short of remarkable, and the thought of possibly adding Tielemans into that mix makes it even more exciting.

The 52-cap international, who was once dubbed one of ‘Europe’s top midfielders’ by his manager Brendan Rodgers, netted seven goals and provided five assists across all competitions for Leicester last season, as per Transfermarkt, alongside averaging 1.8 shots per league game, highlighting the creativity and attacking quality that he could bring to the starting XI.

As much as the thought of joining West Ham
