Tragic man found dead in Manchester named as police investigations continue
A man who was tragically found dead in a shop doorway in Manchester city centre has been named. Police and emergency services were called to Bloom Street in Manchester's Gay Village at 10.20am on Sunday (December 3) after the body of a man was discovered.
Greater Manchester Police have said the death is not being treated as suspicious. The M.E.N. understands that the cause of death might be medical but this has not been confirmed by the police and the case is now with the coroners for further investigation.
The coroners have now confirmed the name of the man was Marc Renshaw. His family have been informed.

The tragedy came after the first flurries of winter snow were reported in Greater Manchester late on Saturday night (December 2) and temperatures hovered around freezing overnight, with a Met Office weather warning issued for snow and ice. The M.E.N. understands the man was found on steps in a doorway between the Village Chippy and Roadie's fast-food takeaway, near to the taxi rank.
A police cordon was in place yesterday (December 3) with a forensic tent put up on Bloom Street. Today (December 4), there were flowers at the scene of the tragedy with a message reading: "Rest in Peace. Thinking of your family and friends at this very sad time."
A GMP spokesperson said: "At approximately 10:20am on Sunday 3 December 2023, officers were called to reports of an incident on Bloom Street in Manchester.
"The body of a man was discovered on the street and he was sadly declared deceased. This investigation is in its very early stages and the cause of death is yet
